what it does

The Deluge editor, with the rough edges sanded.

Four things, all free, all applied inside the Zoho page you already work in. DevTools changes how the editor looks and adds a search; it does not change what you write.

Theme packs

Seven themes for the Deluge editor: VS Code Dark, VS Code Light, GitHub Light, GitHub Dark, One Dark Pro, Monokai Pro and Tokyo Night. They appear in Zoho's own Theme dropdown, so you switch the way you already would.

  • Colours the editor canvas, gutter, active line, selection and autocomplete list
  • Reaches the surrounding editor panels too: top bar, side rail and details pane
  • Each theme sits on top of Zoho’s light or dark mode, so the rest of Zoho still behaves

Indent guides

Vertical guides follow the indentation in nested blocks, so you can see where an if, a for each or an invokeurl block begins and ends.

  • Drawn over Zoho’s own tab indentation, so line widths and the caret do not move
  • On by default

Deluge syntax highlighting

Zoho colours a lot of Deluge the same. DevTools tells more of it apart, using the token spans the editor already renders.

  • Separates service namespaces, member calls, built-in types and control words
  • Gives invokeurl, its url and type keys, and HTTP method words their own colours
  • Tells comparison operators from logical ones
  • Your code is not rewritten: only colours change

Search All Functions

A search box beside Zoho’s own on the Functions page that looks across every Deluge function in the org, not just the ones listed on screen.

  • Matches names, API names, descriptions and function source
  • Shows a syntax-highlighted preview of the match
  • Edit in CRM opens the function in Zoho’s native editor
  • Read-only: it uses your signed-in Zoho session and stores nothing

how it works

Install it, open a function, pick a theme.

It runs inside the Zoho page. There is nothing to sign in to.

01

Install from the Chrome Web Store

Add Zoho CRM DevTools from the Chrome Web Store. There is no account to create and nothing to configure first.

02

Open a Deluge function in Zoho CRM

Go to Setup, then Functions, and open any Deluge function. DevTools applies itself on supported Zoho CRM pages; the toolbar popup is a single on and off switch.

03

Pick a theme in the editor settings

In the editor, open Zoho’s Settings from the gear at the bottom left and choose a theme. Indent guides and syntax highlighting are already on.

faq

Before you install

Is it free?
Yes. Theme packs, indent guides, Deluge syntax highlighting and Search All Functions are free, they need no account, and nothing that is free today moves behind a paid plan.
What does Pro add?
Pro is the paid plan for capabilities added on top of the free editor features. The first Pro capability has not been announced yet, so there is nothing to buy that you would be missing today. Nothing that is free now will move behind Pro. A new account gets the Pro trial for 14 days with no card, so you can try the capability when it arrives. Pro is $23 a month.
What permissions does it need, and what happens to my data?
The extension asks Chrome for one permission, storage, which keeps your choices such as the selected theme and the on and off switch. Its scripts run only on Zoho CRM and Zoho Portal pages. The editor features run in your browser and send nothing to us. Search All Functions reads your org’s functions from Zoho with your signed-in session, shows them on the page, and does not store them.
Does it change my code?
No. It changes colours and adds guides on top of the editor Zoho renders; it never edits function text. Search All Functions only reads. Edit in CRM opens the function in Zoho’s own editor, and saving is still Zoho’s.
Which Zoho data centers and editions does it support?
It works on crm.zoho.com, .eu, .in, .com.au, .com.cn and .jp (and .au), and on the matching Zoho Portal domains. Domains not on that list are not supported. The extension does not check your Zoho edition; it styles the Deluge editor Zoho shows you.
